The Statute Monitor is a Canadian business that aims to streamline how certain key information, principally in relation to legislation, published by governments in jurisdictions across Canada is accessed. To this end, The Statute Monitor specializes in assembling multiple sources of information within individual jurisdictions in Canada into a single, easy-to-use email report (TSM Digest) per jurisdiction. Links in the email report connect directly to source materials published on government websites so that you can be confident that you are accessing the actual information made available by the government.
Sources of information that are assembled into the TSM Digest include (where available and accessible in a jurisdiction) annual volumes, bills, gazettes, hansard, indexes of regulations, ministerial orders, news announcements, orders in council, proclamations, tables of statutes, and updated legislation files (acts and regulations).
The TSM Digest is issued as a daily email, with bold formatting used to identify new or recently added information. Content is organized in a user-friendly manner in the body of the email without the need to open and navigate between separate attachments – a single and comprehensive source of truth is right there at your fingertips! Since the email report is issued daily, you always have an all-inclusive email near the top of your inbox, limiting your need to navigate back to earlier emails.

It compiles sources of information made available by the Government of Alberta (including the Alberta King's Printer and the Legislative Assembly of Alberta) and consists of the following sections:

In addition to receiving the formal daily email report, subscribers can submit any number of ad hoc requests for customized and informal email reports, based on information presented in the TSM Digest (AB), that are needed to meet particular purposes and interests (e.g., a list of OICs issued during a certain period of time or by a specific ministry, a list of proclamations issued over a certain period of time, etc.). Ad hoc requests are fulfilled on a best efforts basis (typically within five days).
